La Plagne consists of seven high altitude villages - all superbly linked by pistes and a free bus service - all are purpose built for ski-in, ski out convenience. Apart from the fantastic skiing and snowboarding, stretching to the Paradiski ski domain, with nearly 100 restaurants to be found throughout the different villages of La Plagne, you can be sure of a wide choice of dining options.

Plagne Villages (2050m)
Plagne Villages is in an idyllic location made of smaller, strategically placed buildings, in the very heart of the skiing area, which offers magnificent views and is a glorious natural suntrap.

Belle Plagne (2050m)
Belle Plagne has a traditional Savoie appearance and a warm friendly nature. The village is an attractive place, recently built using local building materials. This resort also benefits from entire underground parking. Belle Plagne is home to the biggest terrain park of La Plagne.

Aime-La Plagne (2100m)
Aime-La Plagne is the highest of the 11 La Plagne resorts, perched at 2100 metres. An amazing view overlooking the whole Tarentaise valley, from one end of Paradiski to the other.

Plagne Soleil (2050m)
Plagne Soleil which is situated at 2050m is one of the more attractive small villages of La Plagne. Plagne Soleil is one of the highest of all the modern purpose-built villages, and sits in a sunny bowl above Plagne Centre. The village is a collection of chalets and small apartment buildings clad in wood and many offering ski-in/ski-out possibilities. Built in the local Savoyard style and with the accessibility to the ski area, make this sun-soaked and appropriately named village very popular.

La Plagne, Paradiski

 

Aime - La Plagne faces Mont Blanc and has mountains all around it this makes it a great base to reach the whole of the ski area.

A cable car connects Aime-La Plagne to Plagne Centre.

 

The altitude of Aime- La Plagne means it is one of the most snow sure villages in La Plagne.

 

Plagne Villages soak up the sun all day.

 

The villages have direct access to the slopes and are connected to Plagne Centre by a chair lift and shuttle bus.

 

Aime – La Plagne is linked to Plagne Centre by a gondola that runs from 8am-1am.

 

Belle Plagne is linked to Plagne Centre via a lift to Bellecôte which runs from 8.30 am-0.30am and a bus from Bellecôte to Plagne Villages which runs from 8.30 am-0.45am.

 

Plagne Villages is linked to Plagne Centre via a lift that runs from 8am-1am.

 

Belle Plagne is one of the most attractive villages.

 

Belle Plagne has immediate access to the pistes and is the newest village that has been built in the La Plagne area.

 

Skiing in La Plagne, Paradiski

 

The 3 resorts of Les Arc, La Plagne and Peisey - Vallandry make up the Paradiski ski area.

 

This means a huge variety of pistes, so it’s a place for everyone no matter their level, their style or experience.

 

The resorts are linked by the Vanoise express which is the world’s largest cable car.

 

The car leaves from Peisey - Vallandry  in Les Arc and Arrives at Champagny-en- Vanoise in La Plagne.

 

From Belle Plagne it’s a run down to Plagne Bellecôte then take a chair lift to L’Arpette then a long Blue decent to the cable car.

 

From Aime- La Plagne and Plagne Villages you take a chair lift to Plagne Bellecôte then a chair lift to L’Arpette and then a long blue decent to the chair lift.

 

Skiing in La Plagne, Paradiski

 

With much of La Plagne above tree-level, there is an abundance of wide-open motorway pistes throughout the main bowl.

 

There are beautiful forest runs down to Montchavin, Les Coches, Champagny and Montalambert.

 

La Plagne holds vast and varied terrains with excellent spring snow and has some of the most challenging off-piste powder skiing in the whole of the Tarentaise Valley.

 

Experts will get the best if they hire a guide and explore the off piste.

 

For early intermediates there are gentle blue motorway pistes in the main bowl of La Plagne.

 

The blue runs either side of L’Arpette, on the Monchavin side of the bowl are good for cruising.

 

There are challenging red mogul pitches down from the glacier.

 

The long sweeping Mont de La Guerre red with 1250m/4100ft vertical from Les Verdons to Champagny is great for intermediates.

 

There are excellent facilities for the novice in La Plagne.

 

Thanks to the spreading of nursery slopes at all altitudes, La Plagne is well recommended to families.

 

Snowboarding in La Plagne, Paradiski

 

There are terrain parks at Belle Plagne, Montchavin-Les Coches and Champagny.

 

There is a permanent half pipe at Plagne Bellecôte.

 

The terrain park at Belle Plagne  has big air, lots of kickers and rails plus shovels to build your own kickers if you want to.

 

La Plagne offers good terrain for all level of riders.

 

In the Paradiskiarea there is 4 snow parks, 1 half pipe, 1 board gliss and 3 boarder crosses.

 

Cross country skiing in La Plagne, Paradiski

 

There are 85km/53 miles of cross country trails in the La Plagne ski area.

 

The most beautiful of those are the 30 km/19 miles of winding tracks set around the Champagny-le-Haut.

 

You can explore the 153km of trials in the Paradiskiski area.

 

Ski Schools in La Plagne, Paradiski

 

There is an ESF ski school in Aime La Plagne.

 

They offer a wide variety of lessons for both adults and children.

Here you can have lessons in alpine skiing or snowboarding.

The Skiing
For the 2011/12 season a much awaited new six- pack is due to replace the slow Verdons Sud chair from the Champagny sector to Les Verdons above Plagne Centre. La Plagne is now linked up with neighbouring Les Arcs by cable car - the Vanoise Express - to form the Paradiski ski area, a ski area of mammoth proportions. Paradiski is made up of 20 different holiday destinations and with 425km of pistes and 2-equipped glaciers there is something to suit skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities. Paradiski has excellent facilities and with its huge variation in altitude (1200m-3250m) there is a multitude of different types of scenery and piste to explore. For experts the most challenging areas of La Plagne are the Roche de Mio and the Glacier de Bellecote. Virtually the whole of the La Plagne area is an intermediates paradise. For beginners the gentle slopes above Les Coches are ideal, with 17 free lifts.
Après Ski
The range of bars and restaurants is surprisingly large in between all levels of the resorts of La Plagne. There is a free bus system between the core villages - also seconded by lifts - that run until after midnight. In Aime La Plagne the restaurants include Soupe au Schuss that offers fine dinning and there is the Le Bartapas bar. In Belle Plagne the wide selection of restaurants includes Le Matafan, which offers fine cuisine and there is also the Chalet Maître Kanter restaurant. In Plagne villages the restaurants include Chevrette and Grizzli. There is a typical English pub in Plagne Bellecote called Spitting Feathers who also offer a pick up and drop off service. The liveliest area for bars is Plagne Centre.
Amenities
All the facilities and services that you would expect to find in a large ski resort are available in the community of villages of La Plagne such as grocery shops, butchers and bakeries, bookshops, clothing shops and hairdressers. There is also a doctor's surgery, chemist, physiotherapist, post office, laundrettes and banks in La Plagne.
Activities
Anything from snowshoe walking, dog sledging, ice skating, paragliding, to snow scooting and bowling can be tried in La Plagne. The Olympic bobsleigh track (open to over 16's) is also a popular evening activity. There is also a fitness centre and swimming pool for you to enjoy. There is a cinema in Aime La-Plagne, Bellecôte and Plagne Centre.
