La Rosière
High altitude resort

Resort description

La Rosiere is located in the heart of the Haute Tarentaise and set in a forest on the Italian border. La Rosiere is a friendly south facing resort built in attractive chalet style. La Rosiere is linked with La Thuile in Italy, it is the only Savoyard resort to offer an international ski area of 150 km of marked pisted runs.

La Rosiere

La Rosiere is built beside the road that zigzags its way up from Boug-St-Mauire to the Petit-St-Bernard pass to Italy

La Rosiere has controlled development of buildings, so buildings are built using traditional methods and are in keeping with local taste

The resort and slopes are south facing, attracting a lot of sunshine and have great views of the Vallées of Les Arcs and La Plagne

La Rosiere is also close to the Vanoise national park

La Rosiere has been awarded the P'tits Montagnards label which guarantees high quaility facilities for children and their parents on holiday in the mountains

Skiing in La Rosiere

La Rosiere has the reputation of being the resort with the most snow in the Savoy

The chairs and drags out of the village take you to the centre of the slopes

If you take the lift up to Col de La Traversette you can get over the ridge and to the lifts which will link you to Italy at Belvedere

There are a few on piste challenges for experts

The top half of La Rosiere mountain below Le Roc Noir and Col De La Traversette boast steep and interesting red runs

La Rosiere has wide-open slopes well suited to beginners and intermediates

The Fontaine Froide red run drops 750m vertical through the woods to the Ecudets chair is a good run for intermediates

There are good nursery slopes and short lifts near the village and near Les Eucherts

Snowboarding in La Rosiere

Snowboarding is best for beginners in this area

There is a terrain park served by the Poletta drag lift just above the village centre

Cross country skiing

There are 12km/7 miles of trails near the Altiport

There is a medium slope, 2 difficult slopes and a very difficult slope

Ski School

ESF in La Rosiere offers day care for children from 16 months in their baby club and a leisure centre for children aged 3-12

The Skiing

All trips are made with a fully qualified high mountain guide who will choose the runs adapted to your level and for your safety.
