Isola 2000
High altitude resort

Resort description

Isola 2000 is located in the Southern Alps and it is just an hour and a half drive from the beachs of the Mediterranean. This purpose-built car free resort has a great snow records due to its high altitude. It is predominantly modern with some controversial style architecture but the resort has now spread in complete contrast with new hamlets of more luxurious, wood-clad buildings.

Isola 2000 is a friendly family resort, good value for money, with safe and snow sure slopes.

 

Guaranteed sun (almost)

 

It has easy road access, less than 60 miles away from Nice, served by low cost airlines.

 

Potentially easy to combine with days by the sea.

 

Skiing in Isola 2000

 

Isola slopes are split into 3 sectors, these are

 

St Sauveau where the majority of red and black runs can be found also from here heliski is possible.

 

Pélevous where there are great blue runs for early intermediates.

 

Levant which can be reached by a chair lift from the resort centre. There are some great intermediate runs in this sector which can be found below Col de La Lombarde

The Skiing
The slopes are designed in a horseshoe shape around the resort. The 3 sections of slopes have something to offer all levels of skiers. The St-Sauveur section is best for experts as it has some of Isola's most challenging runs as well as great off piste. Intermediates have a great pick of slopes in the Pélevos section and for beginners the best slopes are in the heart of the resort.
Après Ski
Isola 2000 has 13 bars and restaurants and 2 nightclubs. The restaurants include Le Collet, Le Rendez Vous and La Buissonière all serving a selection of traditional cuisine.

Isola 2000 has a selection of amenities including a supermarket, grocery stores, doctors, pharmacy, bank, post office and sport shops.
Activities
There is a reasonable amount to do, including snowshoeing, snowmobiling, dog-sledding, skating or you can try ice car driving. There is also a cinema.
