Family Skiing - Ski in–Ski out, Car-Free
Resort
Avoriaz
is
the only car-free resort in France, and what’s
more every chalet and residence is accessible on
skis. Parents can spend their holidays with complete
peace of mind, in the knowledge that their little
ones are safe from traffic around the town. The ice
skating rink, the sledge slope, and the
children’s village are located in the centre of
Avoriaz.
·
One of the largest ski areas in Europe
Avoriaz
is
ideally placed right in the middle of the Portes du Soleil, with 650km of
high altitude slopes in France and Switzerland,
offering panoramic skiing between Mont Blanc and Lake
Geneva. The resort is the perfect starting point for
those seeking to explore the Portes du Soleil area, with the
option of skiing to a different resort everyday of
the week for lunch.
·
The Stash – Top snowpark in Europe
The
resort has adopted their snowpark design from the
Californian resort of North Star. An area in the
middle of the forest caters for a mixture of freeride and freestyle
abilities. Three natural non-groomed slopes of
varying steepness wind in and out of the trees in the
Lindarets forest. To make
it more exciting, the runs also have hidden wooden
obstacles to discover when hurtling down a "secret
passage".
·
Great sunshine record
The village is located on a south-facing plateau,
making it a delightful place to enjoy the
après-ski on an outside terrace after a day on
the sunny slopes.
·
Events and Festivals
Avoriaz
is
the only ski resort in Europe planning a full
programme of ski and music events for the
2011–12 season.
The resort will become the biggest snow dance floor.
On the agenda for this season: Snowsports Celebration
(10–11 December), Avo Night Parties (28
January–4 February), Rock the Piste Music Festival
(24–28 March), and Jazz’Up Festival (31
March–7 April).
